About the role

Make meaningful change to the state of mental health and wellbeing in high school.

Volunteer, fully remote role.

About UrVoice Australia
UrVoice Australia is a non-for-profit that works with students, parents and the education sector to build an education system that ensures young people feel safe and supported to not only identify concerns, but address them. Our mission is to equip schools and educators with the capacity to effectively identify and address mental health and wellbeing concerns.
Overview
We are looking to fill multiple positions on a volunteer basis, who will be working closely with the Founder and Divisional Leads to create an education system that build safe and inclusive reporting mechanisms to ensure young people's concerns are taken seriously.
Volunteers will be placed in one of our divisions based on their skills and interests: Outreach and Engagement, Policy and Advocacy, Programs and Engagement, or Media and Communications.

Who we're looking for

Policy and Advocacy DivisionEngage with local, state, and federal government representatives to advocate for policy changes and support for UrVoice Australia’s initiatives. Prepare and present briefs, reports, and proposals. Monitor and respond to relevant government consultations and inquiries. Conduct research on relevant social issues, policies, and legislative changes. Develop and implement advocacy campaigns to influence public policy and promote social justice. Analyse existing policies and propose recommendations for improvement.

Outreach and Engagement DivisionBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organisations, and community groups. Represent UrVoice Australia at meetings, forums, and networking events. Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and partnerships. Connect with service providers to enhance the support network for marginalised communities. Facilitate partnerships with organisations that offer complementary services. Identify potential funding sources and assist in grant writing.

Media and Communication DivisionWrite blog posts, articles, and social media updates. Create multimedia content, including videos and podcasts. Develop and maintain a content calendar. Design promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and social media graphics. Ensure all visual content aligns with UrVoice Australia’s branding guidelines. Collaborate with other team members to create cohesive campaign visuals.

Programs and Engagement DivisionAssist in designing and developing new programs that align with UrVoice Australia’s goals. Help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, suggesting improvements where necessary. Assist in planning and executing community events, workshops, and information sessions. Engage with local communities to raise awareness UrVoice Australia’s mission and initiatives. Pilot new programs and gather feedback from participants. Assist in the creation of program curricula and materials.

Reliability and commitment to the role

Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, social media platforms, graphic design software) is a plus.
Volunteers will be assigned to one of four specific divisions based on their skills and interests.
